Discharge!

After a very difficult night with nurses short-staffed and stretched too far, Tashie has been discharged "home" to cousin Sara's house on Van Ness Avenue. It was an all-day discharge by the time we actually left the hospital - too late to get the root-beer float for her and the chocolate malt for Lal - drinks that have become an afternoon's special event!
It is soooo much more peaceful here - it is a relief to be in Sara's nest, sitting in front of the fire.

Welcome home Tashie! I can picture you sitting by my mom's fireplace and relaxing. I'm sending you good healing vibes. ;-)

Good morning, Tash. Don't you just love how much confidence the good Lord has in you? Your're a fighter with much to still teach us "young'ns". I am going into my "mental workshop" to send you healing light and love.

Know that you're in my thoughts and prayers. Love and blessings, Kim A

Hi Tashie,
Grant, Quinlan, Kurt, and I would love to enjoy an ice cream drink with you when you return to Oregon. Tonight we are taking bread pudding to family dinner; it is Kurt and Quinlan's second effort as they perfect their recipe for Monday night's Blue and Gold dinner where Quinlan and his fellow Webelos graduate to Boy Scouts.
Today Quinlan and Kurt are golfing with Grandpa Clarke. Grant and I are finishing our garage clean to make room for two new full sized bikes. Then we'll enjoy some biking, guitar practice, and painting (the canvas kind) before family dinner.
Quinlan and I are reading author Lois Lowry's books right now to ready ourselves for her talk Tuesday evening. This is a special treat because we are going with the school's librarian and Quinlan's 3rd grade teacher. Grant likes Lois Lowry as well, but he won't be able to attend because he will be performing with his middle school band. This will probably be his last year with saxophone; he's in a rock band and plays rhythm guitar. Grant prefers rhythm to lead guitar because it is more technically challenging. He and Kurt take lessons every Monday. I love Monday nights because the lessons are in our living room so I can listen in.
On VanNess are you in the Russian Hill district? I hope you are on the really steep part of the street without street sweepers so they don't wake you far too early in the morning.
We are praying for your efficient and thorough recovery with infection soon to be a thing of your past.
Loads of love,
Barbara Bingham

Dear Tashie, did you know I absolutely adore root beer floats? To celebrate Obama's Wyoming win, I had one last night! We'll have one together at Camp Sherman this summer ~ I'll bring the fixings....~ Here it is March, Day Light Saving Day, and time to think about gathering 'round Terry's Table and lift a wee drinkie in memory of our friend. We'll all gather when you are feeling frisky and up to it. ~ I'm glad you are 'home' at Sara's, surrounded by good love and good vibrations. As Terry said " Bloom where planted!" ~ Our days and thoughts are filled with Obama news, addicts that we are. He is going to win Mississippi on Tuesday. Tony was called to join him side by side in Wyoming, but got the call too late to fly out. He felt awful about it, But! Turns out, Obama did just right fine in Wyoming without the General's help. ~ I've had the monster flu for two weeks, and as I've been reclining waiting for the bug to fly off, I've thought a lot about you, how much you mean to me, how grateful I am Terry 'came between us' in the best possible way more than 10 years ago, and that you are my good and great friend. You are a magnificent role model, Tash. Heal fast and easily, have a root beer float whenever you want one! xo bye for now, Bette
